SHIP LOADING MACHINE is a belt conveyor-based loading system comprising a trussed main frame (similar in design to an overhead crane), a self-propelled chassis of various types (most commonly rail-mounted bogies), two conveyor booms (main and inner telescopic «stinger»), feed and transfer hoppers, and a range of optional equipment such as conveyor belt covers, telescopic loading chutes, crane-style operator cabins, and other accessories. Each unit is equipped with an automated control package and sensor suite for real-time monitoring of process parameters.
The operating principle is based on extension and retraction of the stinger relative to the main boom, which, in combination with parallel travel of the machine, enables precise material delivery to specified points within a vessel hold, ensuring even distribution during loading operations.
*Design capacity is calculated as the cross-sectional area of the material on the belt (instantaneous profile)
multiplied by belt speed and material bulk density.
